About the RoleThe Purchase Leader is responsible for end-to-end procurement operations, including strategic sourcing, vendor development (domestic and global), cost optimization, inventory control, and statutory compliance. The role demands strong techno-commercial negotiation skills, cross-functional coordination, and expertise in electronics components sourcing.ResponsibilitiesEnsure optimal inventory levels to support maximum production with minimum lead time.Plan and manage procurement budgets; drive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.Source materials to minimise duties, logistics, and transit costs.Develop and manage a strong base of domestic and global suppliers.Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, rejection rates, delivery timelines, and cost competitiveness.Lead contract and commercial negotiations; finalise agreements in line with company policies.Maintain cost-saving reports and procurement MIS.Work effectively with ERP modules; implement 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.Ensure compliance with statutory, financial, and legal requirements related to sourcing.Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Finance, and Engineering teams. QualificationsDiploma/BE (Electronics or Instrumentation), MBA will be an added advantage. Required SkillsTechno-commercial negotiation and strategic sourcing.Procurement operations (domestic & global).Supplier & vendor management.Value engineering, budget control, and cost optimization.Inventory planning and control.Knowledge of electronics components and market sources.Lean supply chain concepts, green sourcing, and pull mechanisms.Working knowledge of financial and legal aspects of procurement.Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.Proficiency in material management systems and computer applications. Preferred SkillsExperience in electronics components sourcing.
