Assistant Purchasing Manager

Location - Chakan, PuneCompany - Cable ManufacturerCTC - upto 15 LPAPreferred Industry - Oil & Gas, Engineering Project OR cable industryKey Requirements- Education: - Full-time Engineering Degree or Diploma from a recognized institution- Experience: - 10–15 years in procurement, sourcing, or purchase operations - Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or team-handling role - Experience in Wire & Cable, Manufacturing, Engineering, or similar industry preferred -- Technical Skills: - Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor development, and contract negotiations - SAP proficiency (Purchase, Vendor Registration, GRN, MIS reporting) - Knowledge of ISO standards and documentation (ISO 9001, EMS 14000, ISO 45000) - Understanding of MRP, purchasing forecasting, planning, and inventory control - Strong financial and analytical capability for cost analysis and savings initiatives -- Functional Competencies: - Supplier evaluation and performance management - Cost optimization and localization sourcing - Experience in engineering raw materials, consumables, and capital purchasing - Vendor audit and compliance management -- Behavioural & Leadership Skills: - Excellent negotiation and communication skills - Strong decision-making and problem-solving ability - Team leadership, collaboration, and cross-functional coordination - Organized, detail-oriented, and efficient in managing multiple priorities
