Designation - Senior / Lead Data ModellerExperience range - 5 to 10 YearsJob Location - Pune or TrivandrumWe are seeking a motivated Data Engineer with experience to design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. The Data Modeler role focused on the ALEx MIS service at Allianz, you'll be working on a key project that enhances our portfolio and accumulation management capabilities.You will be responsible for designing and implementing a data model based on Data Vault 2.0 Structure that support the business requirements of Allianz bound business.Key Responsibilities- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models using Erwin Data Modeler to support transactional, operational, and analytical systems. - Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to translate requirements into robust, scalable data structures. - Ensure adherence to enterprise data standards, naming conventions, and governance policies. - Architect and deploy data models on Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake). - Optimize models for cloud-native performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. - Integrate models with ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like Azure Data Factory or Databricks. - Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, including lineage, metadata, and transformation rules. - Implement data governance frameworks to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance. - Leverage certifications (e.g., Erwin Certified Professional, Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate) to enforce industry best practices. - Stay current with emerging trends in cloud data architecture and modeling tools. - Mentor junior modelers and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams. - Partner with DevOps teams to automate model deployment and version control. - Documentation: Maintain clear technical documentation for architectures, processes, and workflows. - Continuous Learning: Stay updated on Azure advancements (e.g., Databricks, Purview) and industry best practices.Qualifications:- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. - Experience in data engineering, with hands-on exposure to Azure Synapse, Data Factory, SQL, and Python. - Proficiency in SQL (joins, CTEs, optimization) and Python for data tasks. - Basic understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing. - Proven experience as a Data Modeler or in a similar role, ideally with Data vault 2.0 certification or professional hands-on experience - Experience with data modeling tools such as SQLDBMS, ERwin, or similar. - Strong understanding of database management systems (DBMS) and SQL. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication and collaboration skills. - Attention to detail and ability to work independently. - Certifications: Relevant certifications in data modeling (Data Vault 2.0) or data management are a plus. - Experience in the insurance or financial services industry. - Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts. - Familiarity with big data technologies and cloud-based data platforms. - Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze datasets, identify patterns, and communicate insights. - Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication abilities.
