Role SummaryThe Credit Manager will manage the credit function for the payday loan portfolio, ensuring efficient underwriting, strong portfolio quality, and compliance with regulatory norms. The role includes credit risk assessment, fraud control, portfolio monitoring, and leading the credit team to meet business and quality targets.Location: Pune (Full-time)Key Responsibilities Oversee end-to-end underwriting for payday/short-term personal loans. Assess customer creditworthiness using bank statements, income analysis, digital data, and credit bureau reports. Lead, supervise, and motivate the credit team to achieve underwriting targets, TAT, and portfolio quality benchmarks. Develop and refine credit policies, scorecards, and risk parameters. Identify fraud patterns and coordinate with risk and operations teams to implement preventive measures. Ensure adherence to all RBI guidelines and internal credit policies. Work closely with collections team to manage high-risk accounts and reduce defaults.Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics (MBA preferred). 0-2 years’ experience in credit underwriting, preferably in NBFC/Fintech/payday loans. Strong understanding of retail lending, bureau analysis, and risk assessment. Experience with digital lending systems and fraud detection tools.Key Skills Strong analytical and decision-making ability Knowledge of NBFC and RBI compliance norms High attention to detail and process orientation Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration.
