Job Title: Vessel Performance Engineer (Onsite) Location: Mumbai Department: Vessel Performance / Technical Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite-Mumbai Experience Required: Sailing experience as 3rd Engineer + relevant shore-based experience Job Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Vessel Performance Engineer to join our team onsite. This role is ideal for a marine engineer who has sailed as a 3rd Engineer and possesses shore-based experience in technical or performance-related roles. In addition to performance monitoring and analysis, the role involves direct interaction with clients, ensuring technical clarity, issue resolution, and strong working relationships. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and analyze vessel performance data, including fuel efficiency, speed profiles, engine health, and voyage trends Identify inefficiencies and propose actionable improvement strategies to enhance vessel operations Coordinate closely with technical managers/superintendents to investigate and resolve performance-related issues. Coordinate with SSH team for vessel status and way forward. Interface with clients (ship owners, managers, operators) to provide insights, reports, and support for performance-related queries Manage client expectations and ensure timely resolution of reported concerns or issues Prepare performance reports, dashboards, and regular updates tailored to client requirements Provide feedback to product or software development teams based on client use and data insights Assist in the implementation of energy efficiency and emission reduction initiatives Stay updated on IMO regulations (EEXI, CII, SEEMP) and support clients in compliance efforts Participate in vessel trials, audits, or inspections if required Eligibility Criteria: Mandatory: Sailing experience as a 3rd Engineer (Marine Engineer Officer – Class IV COC) Shore experience: Minimum 1–2 years in a technical, operations, or vessel performance role Hands-on understanding of shipboard machinery and operational practices Strong communication skills with the ability to manage client interactions independently Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights Familiarity with vessel performance platforms and marine analytics tools is an advantage Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools Exposure to decarbonization and energy efficiency practices in maritime operations is a plus
