SAP Data Analyst

Location: Pune, India Experience: 5–8 years Department: Data & Analytics About the Role: As part of the Data & Analytics team at Sonny’s Enterprises, the SAP Data Analyst will play a critical role in bridging Finance, Operations, and Technology. This role requires deep SAP knowledge, FP&A process alignment, and advanced Power BI capabilities to deliver impactful, scalable, and trusted analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, technical skills in ERP/BI systems, and a passion for transforming data into actionable insights. Key Responsibilities Business Acumen & Process Understanding Translate FP&A and operational reporting needs into SAP data models and BI logic. Analyze key financial KPIs such as revenue, margin, working capital, and cost variances, connecting them to production, procurement, and inventory behavior. Understand and work within SAP FICO processes, including GL, AP/AR, cost centers, internal orders, and master data structures. Map and trace costs across SAP modules (e.g., MM to FI), including PO → GR → IR → FI integrations and BOM cost flows. Leverage knowledge of SAP organizational structures (company codes, controlling areas, profit centers, plants, etc.) to ensure accurate financial reporting. Solutioning & Communication Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing) to gather, document, and translate business requirements. Design, develop, and support dashboards for finance and manufacturing decision-makers using Power BI. Support business stakeholders in understanding and acting on insights derived from SAP ECC or S/4 HANA systems. Power BI Development Design star schemas and semantic data models using fact/dimension tables relevant to financial and operational reporting. Develop advanced DAX measures, KPIs, and interactive visuals (e.g., YTD, variance, drill-throughs). Implement robust security models, including row-level security and parameterized filters by plant, region, or user group. Create scalable and maintainable BI assets aligned with enterprise data strategies. ETL & Data Engineering Collaboration Work closely with ETL and data engineering teams (e.g., Azure Data Factory, SQL, Power Query) to build robust data pipelines. Engage in data cleansing, transformation, and validation to address master data inconsistencies and align fiscal calendars and hierarchies. Validate and reconcile Power BI outputs against SAP source systems and staging layers to ensure data integrity. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Business, IT, or a related analytical discipline. 5+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, or related roles. Strong expertise in SAP (ECC or S/4 HANA), particularly FICO and cross-module integrations. Proven experience with Power BI: data modeling, DAX, visual development, and performance optimization. Advanced skills in SQL, Power Query, and data validation techniques. Experience working in a manufacturing, finance, or supply chain environment.
