The GIS Consultant will be responsible for gathering relevant data, performing data analysis, creating geospatial visualizations, developing and maintaining GIS databases, and providing location-based insights. The consultant will work closely with the manager to understand the objective and deliver customized solutions.QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s in GIS, Data Science, or related field3+ years of experience in GIS consulting or geospatial data engineeringProficiency in Python and geospatial libraries (GeoPandas, Shapely, Fiona, etc.)Strong understanding of geospatial dataset and spatial databases management systems (PostGIS, GeoServer)Strong proficiency in GIS tools and software, such as QGIS, Geoda and other geospatial tools as well as MS excelAbility to provide location-based insights and customized solutions for clientsExcellent communication and client-facing skillsProblem-solving mindset with attention to detailPreferred ExtrasExperience in remote sensing, urban planning, network analysis or telemetry data modelingKnowledge of machine learning techniques for spatial predictionContributions to open-source GIS projects or publications in geospatial analytics
