Process Design Manager

Role & Responsibilities:• Proposal Engineering:- Enquiry appraisal in consultation with the respective product engineer in marketingand the end user (customer) himself as and when required.- Guiding the team/engineers for planning and preparation of,o the design to be offered.o process design data, P&ID, layout drawings and relevant drawings,specifications for bought out items and related drawings.o technical proposal and cost estimation.o conformance to customer requirements prior to proposal submission as wellas after order receipt.o technical deviations if any from the enquiry specifications.o review and approval of the above.- Ensuring timely submission of technically correct and commercially competitiveproposals (in the time schedule required by the customer);- Project scheduling workout during enquiry stage, in coordination with projects andplanning/manufacturing group at factory.• Process Engineering:- Review and approval of final proposal and final cost estimation after order receipt.- Review of order for any deviations from final proposal and communication of thedeviations to marketing for resolution with customer and for information toEngineering/Projects.- Participation in the internal order kick-off meeting to ensure smooth hand over toprojects, after order receipt.- Review and approval of documents prepared by design engineers and release ofo P&ID and GA drawingo Scope of supply (Main assembly level)o Product datasheeto Design specification datasheets- Initiating design reviews of P&ID and design specification datasheets, andparticipation in design reviews of GA and Layout drawings.- Participation in analysis of feedbacks received from internal or external customersregarding design issues, identifying any cost implications arising out of therequested change, and transmitting the modifications and cost implications to theconcerned departments.- Conducting regular reviews with team leaders and engineers within the function toensure on time performance.- Participation in analysis of feedbacks received from internal or external customersregarding design issues, identifying any cost implications arising out of therequested change, and transmitting the modifications and cost implications to theconcerned departments.• Performance Management:- Responsible for successful commissioning and handover of system to customer.- Extending support to site engineers for troubleshooting and hand holding duringcommissioning.• New Product Development:- Assist the team in Improvement of existing products/systems/processes andsearch for new applications.- Identifying market areas and developing systems to expand product basketExperience, Knowledge & Skills:• Experience in design and proposal engineering of Waste Heat Recovery Boilers/ Systems, HeatExchangers and Pressure Vessels as per ASME, IBR, and TEMA etc.• Experience in Thermal and Mechanical design using well know software like HTRI, PV-Elite etc.• Innovative approach to adapting to latest technologies/ technology tools/ continuous improvementsto the systems and internal design and engineering processes.• Excellent skills with PC / Laptop to manage work. Good communication skills: verbal, written andpresentation.• Strong team player.
