Job Description:
A banquet manager oversees the planning, execution, and management of all aspects of banquets and events to ensure a smooth and successful experience for clients. Key responsibilities include coordinating with clients, planning event logistics like venue setup and staffing, managing banquet staff, ensuring food and beverage quality and requests are met, and coordinating with other departments such as sales and kitchen staff. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to handle multiple events simultaneously, solve problems, and maintain budget control. Core responsibilities Event Planning & Coordination: Liaise with clients to understand their requirements, including menu, setup, and special requests. Coordinate all logistics, such as room setup, audiovisual equipment, and decorations. Plan and check venue setup to ensure efficiency. Staff & Operations Management: Hire, train, and supervise banquet staff. Determine the number of waitstaff and other staff needed for each event. Oversee staff during events to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service. Ensure timely food service and table clearing. Food & Beverage: Manage food and beverage requests effectively. Coordinate with the head chef on menu selections, quality control, and execution. Maintain the quality of services and manage inventory of glassware, linen, and equipment. Budget & Administration: Conduct banquet facilities within budget and prepare/maintain budget records. Manage pending bills and ensure timely payment. Maintain strict sanitation and cleanliness standards at all times.
