Our client is looking to hire a Business Head – Strategic Electronics (Defense & Aerospace) for Pune (Pimpri location). This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building strategic relationships with key clients (e.g., OEMs, contractors, and government entities), and driving revenue growth through the distribution of electronic components. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in technical sales, Défense, Aerospace sector-specific knowledge, and the ability to navigate complex procurement processes.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute sales strategies to expand market share in aerospace and defense, targeting clients such as aircraft manufacturers, defense contractors, and satellite providers.Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including RFPs, tenders, and partnerships, while maintaining a robust sales pipeline.Build and nurture long-term relationships with customers, understanding their technical needs and providing tailored solutions from our electronics portfolio (e.g., avionics, sensors, power systems, and ruggedized components).Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, supply chain, and compliance) to ensure product recommendations align with customer requirements and industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ITAR, MIL-STD).Conduct market analysis, monitor industry trends (e.g., advancements in UAVs, hypersonics, and electronic warfare), and provide insights to inform business decisions.Achieve sales targets through consultative selling, negotiations, and contract management.Represent the company at industry events, trade shows (e.g., AEDEX, Aero India), and networking forums.Ensure compliance with export controls, security clearances, and ethical standards in all dealings.Qualifications and RequirementsBachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Aerospace, or a related field; MBA or advanced certification (e.g., in defence acquisition) is a plus.Minimum 12-15 years of experience in sales or business development within the aerospace and defence sectors, preferably in electronics distribution or component sales or OEM’s that focuses this sector.Proven success in closing deals with defence primes (e.g., Lockheed Martin, Boeing) or government agencies like HAL, BEL, ISRO, TBRL and SCL.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), market research platforms, and MS Office suite.Willingness to travel up to 50% for client meetings and events.Skills and CompetenciesStrategic thinker with a hunter mentality for new business.Deep understanding of aerospace/defence supply chains, regulations, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI in avionics, sustainable materials).Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating cross-functionally.Results-oriented with a focus on customer satisfaction and long-term value creation.Interested please connect or share your cv AT swati.singh@
