The role will drive strategic leadership across AI education, Large Language Models (LLMs), emerging technologies, applied research, and deep industry collaboration—positioning LPU as a national leader in future-ready talent development.Key Responsibilities:Strategic & Academic Leadership- Define and execute the vision and roadmap for AI and emerging technologies across UG, PG, and doctoral programs - Embed AI and ML thinking across disciplines, enabling AI-enabled graduates across engineering, management, healthcare, and liberal arts - Ensure curriculum relevance aligned with global technology trends and industry needsAI, LLMs & Technology Enablement- Lead the development, fine-tuning, and deployment of Large Language Models (LLMs) for education, research, governance, and enterprise applications - Identify, pilot, and scale cutting-edge AI tools and platforms to enhance teaching, operations, and data-driven decision-making - Establish AI labs, Centers of Excellence, and applied research ecosystemsResearch, Innovation & Funding- Drive high-impact applied research, patents, publications, and technology commercialization - Secure funded projects through government agencies, industry sponsorships, and global collaborations - Promote innovation, startups, hackathons, and IP creationIndustry & Global Partnerships- Build and sustain partnerships with global technology companies, startups, research labs, and policy bodies - Enable industry-co-created curricula, certifications, executive education, and joint research programs - Represent LPU at national and international academic, technology, and industry forumsFaculty, Talent & Culture Development- Mentor and upskill faculty and students in industry-aligned AI, data science, and emerging technology practices - Lead faculty recruitment, performance management, and continuous capability building - Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and academic excellenceGovernance, Quality & Outcomes- Ensure compliance with UGC, AICTE, NAAC, NIRF, NBA, and global accreditation frameworks - Drive outcome-based education, academic audits, and continuous improvement - Strengthen student placements, higher education pathways, and global exposureIdeal Profile- Senior industry professional with 15+ years of experience in AI/ML, data science, or advanced computing - Proven track record in building, deploying, or scaling LLMs or advanced AI products - PhD or equivalent industry-recognized credentials preferred - Strong leadership capability to drive large, cross-functional initiatives in an academic ecosystem - Passion for shaping the next generation of AI talent and bridging industry–academia gaps.
