The team enables large-scale e-Governance, data analytics, and automation to improve efficiency and citizen experience.>>About the Role:The Road Safety Specialist will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring road safety initiatives across highways and urban road networks. This role involves conducting safety audits, analyzing crash data, and recommending engineering and policy interventions to reduce accidents and improve traffic safety. The position requires strong technical expertise in road safety engineering principles, compliance with national and international standards (IRC, MoRTH, iRAP), and proficiency in traffic analysis tools and design software. The specialist will collaborate with government agencies, traffic police, and stakeholders, prepare technical reports and cost estimates, and lead training and awareness programs. The role also includes supporting the development of state-level safety strategies, reviewing designs for compliance, and promoting community engagement for safer road behavior.>>Exposure we are Looking for within road safety:Road Safety Audit, traffic analysis tools, GIS, and design software, interpret crash data, planning and monitoring safety interventions, iRAP Accreditation or equivalent, Knowledge of IRC standards, MoRTH guidelines, Promote awareness campaigns, Provide training and capacity building, Road safety, cost estimates for safety projects, inspections for highways and urban roads, Advise on policy, standards, and guidelines>>Key Responsibilities:- Conduct road safety audits and inspections for highways and urban roads. - Analyze crash data and identify high-risk locations for interventions. - Develop and implement road safety improvement plans and engineering measures. - Advise on policy, standards, and guidelines related to road safety. - Coordinate with government agencies, traffic police, and stakeholders for safety programs. - Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and cost estimates for safety projects. - Provide training and capacity building on road safety practices and tools. - Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented safety measures. - Support development of road safety strategies and action plans at state or project level. - Assist in design review to ensure compliance with safety standards. - Promote awareness campaigns and community engagement for safer road behavior.>>Required Qualifications & Experience:Experience:5–12 years of relevant experience (preferably in e-Governance).Education:- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field. - Master’s degree in Transportation Planning, Traffic Engineering, or Road Safety (preferred).>>Mandatory Skills:- Strong knowledge of road safety engineering principles and international standards (IRC, iRAP). - Proficiency in traffic analysis tools, GIS, and design software (AutoCAD, etc.). - Ability to interpret crash data and apply data-driven solutions. - Excellent report writing and presentation skills. - Strong stakeholder coordination and communication abilities. - Project management skills for planning and monitoring safety interventions. - Familiarity with ITS/ATMS/TMS technologies for smart highways.>>Preferred Skills:- Familiarity with NIC applications (e.g., Parivahan, Traffic eChallan). - Experience in business process re-engineering and financial advisory. - Exposure to GeM procurement processes and government IT ecosystems. - Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.>>Certifications (Good to Have):- Road Safety Audit Certification (preferred). - iRAP Accreditation or equivalent international certification (preferred). - Knowledge of IRC standards, MoRTH guidelines, and global best practices.KPMG India has a policy of providing equal opportunity for all applicants and employees regardless of their color, caste, religion, age, sex/gender, national origin, citizenship, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or other legally protected status.
