We work with both internal and external entities on key issues that affect Target’s ability to productively, ethically and securely conduct business. Through our understanding of Target’s business models and operations, we help facilitate Target’s growth, and provide guidance that leaders rely on to make appropriate, well-informed decisions. Simultaneously, we help protect the business by applying our comprehensive understanding of risk and the law on issues that impact our brand, guests, team members, stores, supply chain facilities, and corporate locations.Key Responsibilities 1. Contract Management Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including MSAs, lease deeds, licensing agreements, NDAs, supplier/vendor contracts, and partnership agreements. Support to Corporate Real Estate Team on International property matters. Ensure contracts comply with company policies, risk thresholds and applicable legal requirements. Provide guidance to cross-functional teams on contractual obligations and strategies for mitigating risk. 2. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with relevant laws, including IT regulations, data protection/privacy laws. Implement best practices for regulatory compliance. Interpretation of laws and advice business teams on new legislations and regulations. 4. Risk Management Identify potential legal risks in new business initiatives and commercial transactions. Provide practical legal solutions that support business objectives while minimizing risk exposure. Conduct legal trainings and awareness programs for internal teams. 6. Dispute Resolution & Litigation Support Draft legal notices and develop strategies for resolving disputes proactively. Collaborate with external counsel on litigation matters. 7. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with real estate, procurement, finance and teach teams to provide timely legal guidance. Coordinate with the global legal teams on cross-border transactions and matters.Requirements Law degree from a tier one law school in India; 8-10 years of experience working in a law firm or in-house with a focus on contracting ( Commercial, sourcing, property documentation, etc); Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build trust with business partners and deal with disagreements in a constructive and successful manner. Ability to react positively to change, ambiguity and uncertainty. Ability to organize, coordinate and manage resources and time to achieve key goals and objectives.
