We’re hiring aself-managing Senior Data & Automation Engineeron a 3-month contract to automate and integrate our systems, centralize data, and build live dashboards for our operations and maintenance teams. You’ll collaborate directly with Canadian management, receive clear business goals, and be responsible for designing, building, and delivering working technical solutions independently. Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintainETL/data pipelinesbetween multiple systems: TransPlus TMS, Samsara telematics, MIR-RT maintenance, WEX fuel, and QuickBooks. DevelopSQL databasesto centralize operational data for analytics. CreatePower BI dashboardsshowing metrics. Automate manual workflows (data pulls, CSV/API exports, scheduled reports, and notifications). Communicate progress, timelines, and issues clearly influent Englishwith Canadian management. Provide fulldocumentationfor scripts, integrations, and dashboards. Technical Skills RequiredPython(ETL scripting, API integration, scheduling) SQL(MS SQL Server / MySQL / PostgreSQL) REST APIs(authentication, JSON handling) Power BI(data modeling, DAX formulas, refresh scheduling) Automation tools:SSIS, Power Automate, or cron-based jobs Version control:Git / GitHub English:Must speak and write clearly for daily communication Bonus Skills Logistics / fleet-management data familiarity QuickBooks API or fuel-card data experience Light server administration (Windows Server / Linux / Azure) Deliverables Within 3 MonthsAt leastone working API integration(e.g. Samsara → SQL → Power BI).
