Role Overview:The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of assigned construction projects. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective cost control, and compliance with accounting standards. The Project Accountant plays a crucial role in providing timely and reliable financial information to support decision-making and optimize project profitability.Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and analyze project financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely insights into project performance.- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule.- Conduct regular project cost reviews and variance analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities and recommend corrective actions.- Manage project invoicing, payments, and collections to ensure timely and accurate cash flow.- Perform monthly reconciliation of project-related accounts to ensure data integrity and accuracy.- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements to mitigate financial risks.- Support project audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support project decision-making.- Prepare and present project financial reports to management and clients to communicate project performance and financial status.Required Skillset:- Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyze project financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.- Proven expertise in project cost control, variance analysis, and financial reporting.- Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.- Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA/CMA preferred.- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.- Adaptability to work on-site in Navi Mumbai, ensuring close collaboration with project teams.
