Location:PALAKKADEmployment Type:Full-TimeAbout the RoleWe are seeking a motivatedJunior Electronics & Controls Engineerto join our hardware team in building the next generation of outdoor autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you will transition from academic theory to real-world deployment.Key Responsibilities1. Hardware Integration & Wiring●Prototyping:Assist in the assembly of electronic sub-systems, including custom PCB mounting and enclosure integration. ●Cable Harnessing:Design and build neat, reliable wiring harnesses that can withstand outdoor vibrations and weather conditions. ●Power Management:Assist in the integration of Battery Management Systems (BMS) and DC-DC converters to ensure stable power delivery.2. Embedded Systems & Controls●Firmware Deployment:Flash and test firmware on microcontrollers (ESP32/STM32) and troubleshoot bootloader issues. ●Actuation:Work on the calibration of motor drivers and verify that encoder feedback matches physical movement. ●Control Loops:Support senior engineers in fine-tuning PID constants to ensure smooth robot motion and steering.3. Sensor Integration & Testing●Hardware Mounting:Physically integrate and align sensors (LiDAR, IMU, GPS, Cameras) ensuring proper field of view and vibration isolation. ●Communication:Use logic analyzers or oscilloscopes to verify data flow across protocols likeCAN bus, I2C, and UART .●Field Testing:Participate in outdoor test sessions to collect log data, identify hardware failures, and assist in "bring-up" (initial power-on) of new prototypes.4. Documentation & Quality Control●Create and maintaininterconnect diagramsand pinout tables using tools like Lucidchart, KiCad, or similar. ●Log hardware bugs and maintain a "vitals" sheet for each robot prototype.Required Skills & Qualifications●Education:BE / BTech in Electronics & Communication (ECE), Electrical (EEE), Mechatronics, or Robotics. ●Circuit Literacy:Ability to read and write schematics and use a Multimeter for continuity and voltage checks. ●Tooling:Basic soldering skills and familiarity with hand tools (crimpers, wire strippers). ●Programming:Foundational knowledge ofC/C++ ; ability to modify existing code to change pin assignments or toggle GPIOs. ●Mindset:A "tinkerer" personality—someone who enjoys taking things apart and understanding how they work.Preferred (The "Plus" Factors)●Experience withGitfor version control. ●Familiarity withROS (Robot Operating System)or Linux command line. ●Participation in robotics competitions (e.g., Robocon, Formula Student, or local drone clubs).What We Offer●Mentorship:Direct access to senior robotics engineers with years of industry experience. ●Hardware Access:Work with high-end sensors (LiDAR, RTK-GPS) and industrial-grade motor controllers. ●Career Path:Opportunity to specialize into eitherEmbedded Firmware ,Control Systems , orHardware Designas the company grows.
