Job Description:
Core Job Responsibilities of a Quality and Safety Manager1. Policy Development & Compliance- Develop and enforce quality and safety policies aligned with OSHA, DGCA, IATA, and other relevant regulations. - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws. - Maintain documentation for audits and inspections.2. Risk Assessment & Mitigation- Conduct regular safety audits of cargo handling areas, warehouses, and vehicle fleets. - Identify hazards (e.g., flammable materials, heavy equipment zones) and recommend control measures. - Implement corrective actions post-incident or near-miss.3. Training & Awareness- Quality and Safety briefing to all the staff - Organize quality and safety training for warehouse staff, forklift operators, drivers, and contractors. - Promote a safety-first culture through workshops and visual aids. - Ensure PPE usage and emergency preparedness.4. Incident Investigation- Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, or unsafe practices. - Prepare detailed reports and root cause analyses. - Liaise with insurance and legal teams if required.5. Coordination & Communication- Collaborate with terminal managers, customs officials, and logistics partners. - Act as the point of contact for regulatory bodies during inspections. - Communicate safety updates to senior management. - Responsibilities Checklist: Covers core duties like policy enforcement, audits, training, and coordination. - Audit Items: Key areas to inspect such as PPE, fire safety, vehicle checks, and documentation. - Incident Tracking Log: A table to record incidents, root causes, and corrective actions. - Tenant Compliance Issues: Common challenges in multi-tenant environments.KPI’s- Tenant Safety Compliance Index - Measures how well tenants adhere to park-wide quality and safety standards. - Quality and Safety Culture Survey Score - Employee feedback on quality and safety practices and culture. - Incident Cost Reduction - Tracks financial impact of quality and safety improvements.Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field. - At least 10 years of quality and Safety experience in Airlines, warehouse or logistics operations. - Strong knowledge of quality and Safety Audit, documentation and safety follow up protocols.
