Job Description – Senior SAP S/4HANA FICO Application SpecialistPosition OverviewThe Senior SAP S/4HANA FICO Application Specialist is responsible for leading the configuration, support, and integration of Financial (FI) and Controlling (CO) processes within Topsoe’s SAP S/4HANA environment.This role focuses on delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions that support Topsoe’s financial and operational goals, with a particular emphasis on Controlling. The Senior Application Specialist will collaborate with business stakeholders, coordinate tasks, and ensure seamless integration with other SAP modules and third-party systems.In summary, this role comes with a dual responsibility – both acting as Finance business advisory on current SAP tools and finance processes, as well as staying informed on SAP Finance roadmap and proposing future use cases for Topsoe and acting as technical owner and daily operations responsible for own area in Finance IT Corporate Applications.The Senior Application Specialist will join Topsoe Global IT in department of Corporate Applications Finance with direct reference to Senior Director of Corporate Applications.Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary Areas of Ownership (*indicating areas of special importance to strengthen internal knowledge)- *Product Costing (including Transfer Pricing): Lead the design, configuration, and support of product costing process add-ons and changes, ensuring accurate cost calculation and effective transfer pricing mechanisms. - *Closing Activities: Advisory to business on process optimization through SAP tooling support, as well as responsible for resolving any technical issues across all period-end closing activities, including result analysis, revenue recognition, cost allocation, settlements, and costing sheets. Support overall goal of ensuring timely and accurate financial closing in compliance with internal and external requirements. - *Consolidation / Group Accounting / Group Reporting: Take primary responsibility for maintaining and configuring current consolidation tool support and be advisory for Finance for future group consolidation and reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely group financial statements and compliance with relevant standards. - *Design, configuration, and support of SAP FI sub-modules (GL, AR, AA, TAX & inter-company and cross-company processes). - *Lead or participate in SAP FICO projects, including new implementations, rollouts, upgrades, and enhancements. - Document Splitting: Be advisory for Finance on roadmap activities relating to document splitting and eventually take ownership of configuration and maintenance to ensure accurate financial reporting. - Parallel Ledger: Be advisory for Finance on roadmap activities relating to parallel ledger and eventually take ownership of configuration and maintenance to ensure local financial closing with IFRS/GAAP reporting. - Financial Planning Tool: Serve as the primary Finance IT contact for ongoing business case development and financial planning tool support. - Plant Abroad: Take run & maintain responsibility for the plant abroad scenarios. - Scrap: Take run & maintain responsibility for processes related to scrap management and reporting.Support Areas- Accrual Engine: Provide support for the configuration and operation of the accrual engine. - Asset Accounting: Support asset accounting processes, ensuring compliance and integration with other financial processes. - Controlling: Provide support for controlling processes and user inquiries and independently resolve complex issues in SAP FI/CO modules, with a focus on Controlling. - Currency Valuation: Support currency valuation processes and ensure accurate foreign currency reporting. - Profit Center Accounting: Support profit center accounting processes and reporting. - Develop and maintain substitution and validation rules.Additional Responsibilities- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver comprehensive SAP FICO solutions. - Integrate SAP with third-party interfaces (e.g., Salesforce) and prepare functional specifications as required. - Ensure seamless integration with other SAP modules (MM, SD, PS, PP, etc.). - Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and user guides. - Ensure strong stakeholder management, analysis, problem-solving, and communication.Qualifications- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related discipline. - Minimum 15 years of direct SAP FI & CO module experience, including configuration and support. - Participation in full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementation project preferred. - Experience with integration of SAP with third-party systems and other SAP modules.Soft Skills & Other Requirements- Excellent communication and stakeholder management - Strong task coordination and ability to independently resolve complex issues. - Ability to work in CET time zone required - English language fluent required
