Your Role We’re looking for an Speech AI Engineer to help bring our AI-powered interpretation services to the next level. You’ll work on the systems behind our Virtual Interpreter —an on-demand, AI-driven solution for live meetings and events—combining speech recognition, machine translation, and speech generation in real time. Your mission: enhance, optimize, and deploy interpretation-focused AI pipelines that deliver lower cost per session, consistent quality, and scalable global coverage . You’ll collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to take innovations from concept to production, ensuring seamless integration with platforms such as the Nice Interpretation Platform . This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building high-performance, multilingual AI systems that work in real-world, real-time environments. What You’ll Do Architect, build, and refine our next-generation Virtual Interpreter pipeline—starting from an existing proof of concept—by designing pre- and post-processing components (or reimagining the pipeline entirely) to achieve higher accuracy, usability, and production readiness. Build and deploy real-time QA scoring systems to assess interpretation quality during calls. Integrate AI interpretation capabilities into enterprise platforms (starting with the Nice Interpretation Platform) for seamless customer access. Optimize model inference speed and accuracy for real-time interpretation scenarios. Collaborate with product and operations teams to align AI development with interpretation service delivery goals. Keep up-to-date with research on ASR, machine translation, speech synthesis, and multilingual NLP to inform system improvements. Requirements 3+ years of experience in Applied Machine Learning , ideally with a focus on speech, NLP, or multilingual AI . Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computational Linguistics, or related field. Strong Python skills and experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch , TensorFlow , or HuggingFace Transformers . Experience working with automatic speech recognition (ASR) , machine translation , and speech generation models. Familiarity with MLOps tools (e.g., MLflow, Weights & Biases, Docker, Kubernetes) for deploying and maintaining production systems. Proven ability to design, train, evaluate, and optimize real-time ML systems.
