The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in US tax preparation with exposure to both individual and business tax returns. Experience with expat and international tax filings is highly preferred.In this role, you will work closely with senior associates and managers to support tax preparation, bookkeeping, tax research, client onboarding, and financial reporting engagements across a wide range of US and international clients.Key ResponsibilitiesTax ComplianceAssist in preparing US tax returns for individuals and businesses, including Forms 1040, 1040NR, 1120, 1120S, 1065, 5471, 5472 and related international filingsSupport expat and international tax engagements under senior supervisionConduct tax research and assist with resolving client tax questionsStay updated on current US tax laws, filing requirements, and compliance changesTax Planning & Advisory SupportAssist senior team members with tax planning projects and advisory engagementsHelp identify tax-saving opportunities and compliance considerationsSupport analysis of deductions, credits, and entity structuresBookkeeping & Financial ReportingAssist with bookkeeping and transaction categorizationSupport preparation and review of financial statements and reportsHelp identify bookkeeping discrepancies and cleanup opportunitiesClient Communication & OnboardingAssist with onboarding new clients, gathering documents, and organizing workflowsParticipate in client calls and follow-up communication as neededBuild professional relationships with clients through responsive communication and supportAvailability during US morning hours (India evening hours, occasionally up to 12 AM IST) for meetings and collaborationProcess improvement & Team CollaborationSupport implementation of workflows, SOPs, and internal quality control processesCollaborate with senior associates and managers on active engagementsParticipate in internal training sessions and technical learning initiativesAssist with reviewing junior-level work as responsibilities growQualificationsMinimum 2+ years of experience in US tax preparationExposure to Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, and related filingsExperience with expat or international tax filings is highly preferred(Forms 1040NR, 5471, 5472, 2555, 1116, 8621, 8938, FBAR, etc.)CPA or EA license preferred but not mandatoryExperience with bookkeeping and financial reportingStrong communication and interpersonal skillsDetail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work independently in a remote environmentWillingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a fast-paced teamWhy Join USA Tax Gurus?Fully remote work environmentExposure to complex US and international tax engagementsDirect mentorship from experienced tax professionalsOpportunity for long-term career growth and advancementCollaborative and supportive team cultureAt USA Tax Gurus, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace.
