Compelling Opportunity for Senior DBA (Contract)Contract | ImmediateEnd Client : Innovative Entity in Insurance IndustryRole: Sr. Database Administrator (Contract)Engagement Model : 2.5 Month Contract through 10XTDLocation: Hyderabad, IndiaExperience: 10+ years of IT experience with a min of 8 Years experience as DB administrator in a reputed organization.Reports To: Head of IT Infrastructure OperationsJob Summary and Experience: The Database administrator is responsible for the Installation, configuration and Administration of Databases as per the business requirements.Primary Skills:• Deep technical proficiency in Database management, including expertise in database design mainly on MSSQL, MySQL and PostgreSQL• Candidates with experience on working with other open-source non-SQL Databases such as Apache Kafka & Cassandra, MongoDB, etc will be preferred• Knowledge of server operating systems (Windows & Linux) and hardware components• Effective Troubleshooting, communication and problem-solving abilities• Experience in backup/recovery of databases• Familiarity with performance tuning and database optimization• Understanding of cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)Key Responsibilities:Database Management:• Install, configure, and upgrade database software and tools• Monitor database performance and perform regular tuning• Configure and manage automation of tasks• Create and finetune databases as per the requirements of Internal stakeholders (product development / primary functions) / InsurersData Integrity and Availability:• Ensure high availability of databases and minimize downtime• Manage data replication and mirroring as needed• Plan and configure a high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) environmentData Security:• Implement data security policies to safeguard sensitive information• Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery planningPerformance Optimization:• Monitor and optimize the performance of database systems• Resolve performance bottlenecks and improve query efficiency• Using DMVs, SQL Profiler, Extended Events to solve long running queries, performance issuesUser Access and Roles:• Define and manage user roles, permissions, and access levels• Address issues related to data access and connectivityDatabase Design and Development:• Collaborate with developers to design and implement efficient database solutions• Assist in database schema design and data modelling• Experience in DB migrations (MSSQL to other opensource databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB, etc) wherever requiredCompliance and Documentation:• Ensure databases meet compliance standards and industry regulations• Document database configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures• Other duties as assigned by Head of IT Infrastructure from time to timeIncident Management:• Respond to and resolve database-related incidents and service requests as per the defined SLA• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and apply permanent fixesPreferred Certifications and Skills• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate• AWS Certified Database – SpecialtyWork Environment:• May require occasional on-call / weekend availability / work in shifts for database-related emergencies. Ability to work under pressure.• Collaborate with Primary Functions, System Admins and Developers to provide the right solutions.Screening Criteria- 10+ years of IT experience - Min of 8 Year’s experience as DB administrator in a reputed organization. - Deep technical proficiency in Database management, including expertise in database design mainly on MSSQL, MySQL and PostgreSQL - Excellent work experience on MSSQL administration - Experience in finetuning of DB and database optimization - Experience in Security Aspects (Encryption) - Work experience of implementing HA & DR solutions in both MSSQL and Postgres/ Open Source database - Work experience of migrating MSSQL to Postgres or other open source database - Experience on working with other open-source non-SQL Databases such as Apache Kafka & Cassandra, MongoDB - Knowledge of server operating systems (Windows & Linux) and hardware components - Experience in backup/recovery of database - Understanding of cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) - Available to work from office 5 days and if required during weekend - Available to join within 1 weekConsiderations- 2.5 Month Contract - Location – Hyderabad - Working from office - 5 day workingInterested Profiles,- Kindly applyNote- Additional inputs to be gathered from the candidate to put together the application
