About the ProductThe Product you would be managing is called Skynet - Placement Automation Software that caters to premier business schools in India, including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, Indian School of Business(ISB), IIM Mumbai, IIM Trichy, IIM Jammu, IIT Bombay, IISc Bangalore, MICA, and several others.The Product Manager has the following goals,1. Grow the revenue by 100% in the next 1.5 years 2. Grow the Product Internationally, which includes doing Product Market Fit, GTM Strategy, etc.Role and ResponsibilitiesThis is a cross-functional and customer-facing role. The Product Manager is expected to work with multiple customers and multiple projects at the same time. The responsibilities are broadly categorized into the following categories1. Product Management 2. Coming up with the right features for the customers by regularly engaging with the customers and taking feedback from the Sales and Onboarding teams 3. Building, owning, and delivering a Product road map by working with Engineering, QA, Design, and S&M teams 4. Able to build Wireframes and work with Design teams 5. Product Demos with the Customers 6. Product Documentation 7. Setting up priorities for Engineering and other Functional teams 8. Building Quarterly and Yearly Plans for the Product 9. Product Onboarding 10. Develop a Product Onboarding plan 11. Handle Critical or Complex Product Onboarding 12. Understanding Customer Requirements 13. Building Process flow diagrams 14. Project Management 15. Building a Project plan & Regular Communication on Status (for critical projects) 16. Managing the expectations of the Customer (concerning Timelines and Scope) 17. Negotiation with Clients on the features and timelines 18. Issue Triaging 19. Risk management 20. Identifying the risks proactively and mitigating them by taking appropriate steps 21. Planning and Strategic Execution 22. PM is expected to execute multiple projects at the same time 23. PM needs to work with Engineering Leads, Design, and the QA team to ensure all the projects are delivered on time with quality 24. Stakeholder Management 25. As Product Manager, you will work with the Engineering Team, QC Team, Design Team, Sales Team, and Customers. You need to set and meet the expectations of each of the stakeholders 26. Crisis Management 27. The inevitable part of startups is the crisis that we land into, even after doing several things right. During my last 7 years, we ran into several of them and came out with fantastic learnings. Your job is to be calm in such situations and handle the crisis mindfully with the support of the team.Additional Notes:1. We tried to include all the responsibilities that a PM at EDTEX does, but the responsibilities may change over time based on the business requirements 2. This is a great role for someone who wants to build a great career in Product Management 3. This role is like a mini CEO for the Product 4. This is working from an Office role.Ideal Profile1. MBA from a Top Tier Business school in India (Must have) 2. 1-2 years of experience in a Product Management Role (Must have) 3. Pre-MBA Engineering Background (Good to have) 4. Played a Leadership role in the Institute or a Placement Committee member (Good to have) 5. Pre-MBA Experience as a Software Engineer (Good to have) 6. Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Engineering (Good to have) 7. Ability to speak and understand Telugu is needed for effective communication and manging your tech teams (since most of our engineers are freshers and in early career zone coming from regional IIITs of TG/AP who speak and understand better in Telugu)Why should you apply?1.
