Role Overview:The Asst Key Account Manager – General Trade (GT) is responsible for driving sales growth and strengthening the company’s presence across the assigned GT territory. This role focuses on managing and expanding relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key retail accounts, ensuring strong product availability, effective in-store visibility, and operational excellence. The position plays a critical role in achieving sales targets, expanding distribution reach, and maintaining a competitive market position.Key Responsibilities:Build, manage, and strengthen long-term relationships with large and small distributors, wholesalers, and high-volume retail customers within the assigned GT territory.Drive sales growth by achieving or exceeding monthly and annual volume and value targets.Ensure high product availability across outlets by minimizing stock-outs and managing optimal inventory levels at distributor and retailer points.Improve brand visibility through effective merchandising, signage, in-store displays, and execution of trade promotions.Monitor and manage distributor operations including claims, payments, credit control, and inventory reconciliation.Expand distribution footprint by identifying new outlets and increasing numeric and weighted distribution.Track competitor activity, pricing, promotions, and consumer trends, and share actionable market insights with internal stakeholders.Maintain accurate records of sales performance, distributor interactions, and market feedback.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of trade programs and operational processes.Requirements:5–10 years of proven experience in FNV / FMCG sales, with strong exposure to the General Trade (traditional trade) channel.Graduation is mandatory.Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation skills to manage distributor margins and trade terms.Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to derive actionable insights.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills.Strong territory management, planning, and execution capabilities.Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned GT territory.
