You'll handle the full scope of work that agencies typically outsource strategy, on-page, off-page, technical, link building, AI search optimisation, audits, and reporting across an unlimited number of client projects and keywords. Blog writing sits with our copywriting team; you'll brief them on SEO requirements and review the final output for optimisation. This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role for someone who wants to take full ownership of organic growth across diverse brand categories.Key Responsibilities1. SEO Strategy & PlanningDevelop and implement comprehensive SEO strategies for multiple client accounts simultaneously, with no cap on the number of projects or keywords managedConduct in-depth keyword research to identify high-value opportunities for organic traffic growth, including primary, secondary, long-tail, and intent-based keywordsBuild keyword maps, content briefs, and SEO roadmaps aligned with each client's business objectivesEvaluate competitor digital marketing strategies and develop action plans to outperform them2. On-Page OptimisationPerform on-page SEO including title tags, meta descriptions, header structure, internal linking, image optimisation, schema markup, and URL structureOptimise existing website content and landing pages for target keywords and search intentBrief copywriters on SEO requirements for blogs and website content, and review their drafts to ensure on-page best practices are met before publishingImplement on-page changes directly within CMS platforms (WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, etc.)3. Off-Page Optimisation & Link BuildingDevelop and execute link-building strategies to acquire high-quality backlinks from authoritative websitesManage outreach, guest posting, digital PR placements, directory submissions, and partnership-based link acquisitionMonitor and disavow toxic backlinks; maintain a healthy backlink profile for each clientTrack domain authority, referring domains, and anchor text distribution4. Technical SEO & Website HealthIdentify and resolve technical SEO issues including crawl errors, duplicate content, broken links, redirect chains, canonical issues, and site speedEnsure proper indexing, XML sitemaps, robots.txt configuration, mobile-friendliness, Core Web Vitals, and overall website healthImplement structured data () and rich snippet optimisationsWork closely with developers to brief, prioritise, and QA technical fixesConduct migration planning and execution for client website redesigns or replatforming5. AI Search & Generative OptimisationOptimise content for AI-driven search experiences including generative search (Google AI Overviews, SGE), conversational queries, and zero-click resultsExecute AI indexing strategies to get client websites surfaced in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and other LLM-based search resultsApply semantic SEO, entity-based optimisation, and structured data for AI discoverabilityLeverage AI tools to enhance SEO workflows, content briefs, and analysis efficiencyStay current on evolving AI search behaviour and algorithm updates6. Performance Tracking, Reporting & AnalyticsMonitor and analyse website performance using Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and other platformsTrack key SEO metrics including organic traffic, keyword rankings, CTR, impressions, conversions, bounce rate, and revenue impactBuild and present monthly performance reports with clear insights and next-step recommendations for both internal teams and clientsSet up and maintain SEO dashboards (Looker Studio or similar) for real-time client visibility7. SEO Audits & Continuous ImprovementPerform detailed SEO audits (technical, on-page, off-page, content) for new client onboarding and ongoing accountsPresent findings with clear, prioritised recommendations and execution timelinesStay up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, Google algorithm updates, and industry best practices8. Competitive Analysis & Growth OpportunitiesConduct ongoing competitor analysis to identify content gaps, keyword opportunities, and backlink prospectsTranslate insights into actionable strategies to improve rankings and visibility9. Collaboration & ExecutionCollaborate with copywriters, content creators, designers, and developers to implement SEO best practices across all digital assetsEnsure SEO alignment across paid campaigns, landing pages, and ongoing client projectsCoordinate with account managers to align SEO deliverables with overall client strategy and timelinesQualifications2 to 3 years of proven SEO experience, mandatorily within a creative, marketing, or digital agency environmentHands-on experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneouslyDemonstrated expertise across on-page, off-page, and technical SEOProficiency in SEO tools: Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog, Ubersuggest, Surfer SEO, or equivalentsWorking knowledge of AI search optimisation and tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude for SEO workflowsStrong understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and E-E-A-T principlesHands-on familiarity with WordPress and other CMS platforms (Shopify, Webflow, Wix)Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript to communicate effectively with developersExperience with structured data, schema markup, and Core Web Vitals optimisationExcellent communication, client-facing, and collaboration skillsAbility to manage timelines, prioritise across multiple accounts, and work independentlyNice to HaveExperience with local SEO and Google Business Profile optimisationExposure to e-commerce SEO (product pages, category pages, faceted navigation)Basic understanding of conversion rate optimisation (CRO)Google Analytics and Google Ads certifications
