Data Engineer

Hiring data engineers for Bangalore location with global consulting firm.Experience - 5-8 yearsKey ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain data pipelines and automated workflows across various internal systems.Perform data extraction from multiple source systems (databases, APIs, flat files), ensuring data accuracy and integrity.Manage and optimize SQL databases, including query tuning, stored procedures, and performance monitoring.Develop ETL processes to clean, transform, and aggregate large datasets for analytics and reporting.Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, including data modeling, DAX calculations, and performance optimization.Develop VBA-based automation solutions to streamline data processing and reporting tasks.Perform data analysis and prepare insights, trend reports, and data validation outputs for stakeholders.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Technology, Actuarial/Engineering teams) to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Ensure strong documentation, version control, and adherence to data governance best practices.Core Technical RequirementsStrong hands-on experience with SQL (complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning) and database administration concepts.Experience building and managing ETL pipelines using tools or custom scripts.Proficiency in VBA, particularly for automation of recurring data processes.Strong capability in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and report optimization.Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Power Pivot, macros, complex formulas).Solid understanding of data structures, data quality checks, and data validation methods.Experience with data extraction from enterprise systems, APIs, and other structured or unstructured sources.Knowledge of scripting languages (Python preferred) for data wrangling would be an advantage.Preferred QualificationsExposure to insurance, financial services, or other data-rich operational environments (nice to have, not mandatory).Experience working in a fast-paced shared services or analytics setup.
