Assessment & Discovery• Inventory all servers and workloads• Identify OS versions, roles, and dependencies• Assess hardware and virtualization compatibility• Identify risks, constraints, and upgrade blockersB. Design & Planning• Define upgrade strategy (in-place vs. migration)• Develop target architecture• Create migration, rollback, and backup plans• Recommend security enhancementsC. Implementation• Perform OS upgrades or migrations to Windows Server 2022• Migrate server roles (e.g., Active Directory, DNS, IIS, File Services)• Validate and upgrade applications where required• Apply latest patches and updatesD. Testing & Validation• Functional and integration testing• Performance validation• Security validation• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)E. Cutover & Go-Live• Execute production rollout• Minimize downtime and business disruption• Provide rollback support if requiredF.
