Our culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation makes us an ideal place for those who want to challenge the status quo and work with the latest in technological advancements.Learn more about us at: Key Responsibilities:Database Management: Administer PostgreSQL databases, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning.Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies for PostgreSQL databases.Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries, indexes, and database structures to ensure maximum efficiency.High Availability & Clustering: Set up, configure, and manage high-availability solutions, such as replication (streaming, logical), clustering, and failover mechanisms.Security: Ensure the security of PostgreSQL databases by implementing role-based access controls, encryption, auditing, and regular security patching.Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve database performance issues or outages.Database Design: Collaborate with development teams to design database schemas and structures that align with application needs and best practices.Automation: Create scripts and automation tools for database maintenance tasks (e.g., backups, monitoring, reporting).Documentation: Maintain clear and detailed documentation for all PostgreSQL database operations, procedures, and architectures.Collaboration: Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to ensure seamless integration of database systems within the infrastructure.Capacity Planning: Monitor database usage, plan for future growth, and optimize database configurations to support increasing loads.Requirements:Experience:Proven experience as a PostgreSQL DBA, with hands-on experience in managing, optimizing, and maintaining PostgreSQL databases in production environments.Knowledge of database architecture, configuration, replication, backup, recovery, and scaling techniques.Technical Skills:Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL database internals, SQL, and performance tuning.Experience with tools such as pgAdmin, pgBouncer, Patroni, and pgpool.Familiarity with database monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and New Relic.Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and operational tasks.Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and database services like RDS or Cloud SQL is a plus.Understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and big data technologies (optional, depending on the role's scope).Education:A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Soft Skills:Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment.Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with other databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, NoSQL databases like MongoDB).Experience in setting up PostgreSQL clusters in cloud environments (AWS RDS, GCP, etc.).Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerized environments.
