Job OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Freelance LMS Accessibility Specialist to join a high-performing engineering team working on scalable products for global enterprise clients.This role is ideal for professionals currently working in a 100% REMOTE setup and looking to take up a long-term freelance or part-time engagement alongside their primary role with competitive compensation and meaningful additional income.Company BackgroundWe are a product engineering firm partnering with top-tier global organizations across consulting, fintech, retail, and consumer tech. Our 750+ strong engineering team delivers high-impact solutions across Product and Data Engineering, with deep expertise in Agentic AI, GenAI, RPA, and Full-stack development.Key ResponsibilitiesReview existing course content within Canvas LMS to identify accessibility gaps.Ensure all course content aligns with ADA and WCAG 2.1 accessibility requirements.Use Canvas accessibility features and manual testing methods to identify and fix accessibility issues.Review embedded or third-party content and flag items requiring remediation outside standard Canvas editor tools.Conduct accessibility QA and provide a final compliance/remediation report.Collaborate with internal stakeholders, instructional designers, and content teams to prioritize remediation efforts.Required Skills & ExperienceProven experience in accessibility remediation for LMS platforms, preferably Canvas LMS.Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 and ADA digital accessibility standards.Hands-on experience remediating:Canvas pages and course modulesPDFs, Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and HTML contentImages, tables, hyperlinks, forms, and multimedia assetsExperience using accessibility testing and remediation tools, such as:Canvas Accessibility CheckerWAVEAxeAdobe Acrobat Accessibility ToolsScreen readers (or equivalent tools)Ability to perform manual accessibility validation, not just automated tool-based checks.Strong communication, documentation, and reporting skills.Preferred ExperienceExperience supporting higher education, corporate learning, or online training environments.Familiarity with captioning, transcripts, accessible document authoring, and instructional design best practices.Experience creating remediation logs, compliance trackers, and accessibility audit reports.Engagement DetailsCommitment: ~35 hours per week with predictable workload and clear deliverablesWork Model: 100% remote engagement from our sideCompensation: Monthly payouts with a transparent pay cycleTenure: Long-term engagement for high performers; continuity and stability assuredEligibility: Open only to professionals currently working in a full-time remote role (validated during screening)Growth: Opportunity to work on complex, high-impact products alongside senior engineering leadership
