Location : On-site — Apollo Hospital, Sarita Vihar, New DelhiWorking Days: 9:AM - 5:00PM , Monday to Saturday (6 days/week)Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹35,000/month (negotiable for strong experience and responsibilities)Reporting To: Consultant NeurosurgeonABOUT THE ROLEWe are looking for a dependable, organised Medical Secretary to work directly with a senior Consultant Neurosurgeon at Apollo Hospital, New Delhi. This is a hands-on administrative role — you will manage the surgeon’s schedule, handle patient communications, type medical notes and letters, and keep the practice running smoothly day to day.The role requires punctual attendance. Clinic begins at 9:00 AM sharp and the surgeon’s day cannot start without the secretary in place. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to Sarita Vihar by 9:00 AM Monday to Saturday.Please note: this is a private practice support position. This is not an Apollo Hospital staff appointment.WHAT YOU WILL DOManage all patient appointment requests and maintain the surgeon’s daily clinic and OT schedule using Google Calendar.Send appointment confirmations, reminders, and follow-up messages to patients and referring doctors.Answer calls and messages promptly — including urgent patient queries outside standard hours when required.Type medical reports, clinic letters, discharge summaries, and operation notes from the surgeon’s dictation.Maintain patient records (digital and physical) accurately and confidentially.Coordinate with Apollo Hospital departments, insurance companies, and external specialists on administrative matters.Assist with preparation for ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and academic activities.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORMinimum 3 years’ experience as a Medical Secretary, Doctor’s PA, or in a similar hospital administrative role.Fast, accurate typing — comfortable transcribing medical dictation.Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook) and Google Workspace (Calendar, Drive, Gmail).Excellent command of written and spoken English — essential for managing international patients who may not speak Hindi.Discreet, reliable, and calm under pressure — patient confidentiality is non-negotiable.Comfortable with after-hours call management on an as-needed basis.Advantageous (not required): prior experience in neurosurgery or a surgical specialty; familiarity with medical terminology; knowledge of insurance pre-authorisation processes.A degree in any discipline is required.
