Senior Mechanical Supervisor

Job Summary This position is responsible to plan, prepare and supervise the disassembly and installation of hydro power plant equipment at field sites. The work scope includes hydro-turbines and generators as well as required control and support equipment. The position directs craft labor crews and subcontractors and ensures work is performed in accordance with technical procedures, safety and quality standards, schedule, and within planned budgets.  Job/Role Description Perform detailed planning and preparation of assigned work scope, including interfaces and “hand-offs“ with support groupsDirect work to foreman, craft labor crews and subcontractors and oversee executionInterface with engineering and quality to clarify technical procedures, drawings and field data requirementsAnalyze and identify potential safety and quality risks; mitigate in planning and executionEnsure materials and components are free of defects and meet specification for installationPlan and ensure availability of fixtures, tools and other required equipmentEnsure quality requirements are understood, measurements and inspections are performed and documented as requiredPlanning and optimization of work force capacity together with Site ManagerExecute leadership regarding safety, quality and performance together with site managerPromote professional and supportive work environment with craft labor and subcontractorsIdentify and document deviations from plan regarding schedule, budget and qualityLead incident investigations at site for safety and quality incidents and drive corrective actionsCoordination and managing of Non Conformity related to all site activities.Preparation of all installation and site documents.  Desirables Substantial success in an industrial environmentExperience in construction, hydro or journeymen tradesDemonstrated leadership ability with craft laborCommunication and interpersonal skills essential - works well and collaborates with people – team builderWelding or fabrication experience is a plusMust have the ability to make logical decisions under pressures to resolve field problemsWorking knowledge of mechanical, electrical, control and/or hydraulic systemsPosition requires location at site and willingness to travel to Nepal and aboard The Person Qualifications & ExperienceB.
