Job Description:
The Electrical Engineering Manager with 10+ years in the renewable energy industry will be responsible for end-to-end electrical design and engineering of Solar, Wind, and Hybrid Renewable Energy projects under Suzlon's IPP business. The role involves leading detailed engineering activities, supporting project development teams, and ensuring technical excellence from project conception through commissioning stages. Detailed & Design EngineeringLead electrical design for solar PV, wind, and hybrid power projects – covering both DC side (modules, strings, combiner boxes, inverters) and AC side (transformers, switchgear, grid interconnection).Prepare and review General Arrangement Layouts, cable routing plans, earthing & lightning protection designs, Main Control Room layouts, and Inverter Station designs.Perform all electrical calculations and studies: cable sizing, earthing, battery sizing, short circuit analysis, load flow studies, relay setting and coordination.Develop Detailed Project Reports (DPR), techno-commercial feasibility studies, resource assessments, and Energy Yield Assessments independently.Use simulation tools such as PVsyst and SAM to carry out energy yield estimation for solar plants.Pre-Bid & Owner's EngineeringProvide technical inputs during pre-bid stages including scope definition, equipment specifications, and cost estimates.Conduct Owner's Engineering activities including review of contractor-submitted design documents, drawings, and calculations.Support Lender's Engineering engagements by reviewing technical due diligence reports and responding to lender queries.Standards, Compliance & DocumentationEnsure all designs comply with relevant Indian and international standards.Prepare technical documentation including specifications, design basis reports, engineering deliverables, and inspection test plans.Create and maintain engineering documents, reports, and presentations as per project specifications and quality standards.Project Coordination & Stakeholder ManagementCollaborate with cross-functional teams (project development, procurement, construction, regulatory, finance) to deliver projects on schedule.Interface with EPC contractors, equipment vendors, and external consultants to resolve technical issues in a timely manner.Conduct site visits for data collection, technical assessments, and progress reviews as required.Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet project deadlines.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering – Essential.Preferred: Master's degree in Energy Studies, Energy Systems Engineering, Renewable Energy, or Solar Energy.
