Job Description:
About the GroupThe Ethernet Product Team (part of the High-Speed Data Org) at Texas Instruments, Bangalore, designs and delivers advanced Ethernet PHY devices for critical Industrial and Automotive applications. Our team has a proven track record in delivering successful product families across 10Mbps, 100Mbps, and 1Gbps speeds for both Standard and Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) Automotive standards. At the heart of our Ethernet PHY is the DSP Data Path, implementing vital functions like equalization, echo cancellation, and data/symbol timing recovery. We drive innovation in design and Digital Verification (DV) to achieve robust link performance (BER, link stability) and implement advanced FEC schemes (Viterbi, Reed-Solomon) alongside industry-leading EMI/EMC solutions.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a motivated Design Verification (DV) Engineer to join our development team. You will lead chip-level DV for complex systems where the DSP data path is the core component. This role involves creating test benches, simulating, and validating systems across multiple levels (Module, DUT, and System) using Matlab-generated vectors.A key focus of this role is leading Analog and Channel model development for FPGA emulation, including building synthesizable models and verifying system performance (BER, SNR) on FPGA platforms. You will collaborate closely with Digital and Analog designers through pre-silicon verification and drive Gate Level Simulation (GLS) sign-off.Key ResponsibilitiesTest Case Development: Study specifications and review RTL design to define comprehensive test cases for coverage.Test Bench Architecture: Develop test benches for Module, DUT, and System-level verification.Technical Ownership: Own critical features and lead debug efforts to ensure high-quality silicon.FPGA Emulation & Prototyping: Lead synthesizable modeling efforts for Analog and Channel models to evaluate design performance.Analysis & Insights: Analyze simulation/emulation results to provide actionable insights for design improvement.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with systems, applications, and marketing teams to meet customer requirements and roadmap goals.Required QualificationsExperience: 2–5 years of relevant experience in Design Verification and System Modeling.Technical Skills: Strong understanding of digital design concepts and proficiency in Verilog, Matlab, and Python.DSP Knowledge: Solid fundamentals in DSP concepts (filters, sampling, modulation, adaptive filters) is highly preferred.Emulation: Prior exposure to FPGA-based emulation is preferred.Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Personal AttributesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and documentation abilities.Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments.Self-driven with a strong curiosity to learn complex systems.
