Join us in our mission to ensure every person has access to affordable, accessible mental health care.About the RoleSoftware Engineer – Staff Quality Automation Engineer (EHR)The Staff Quality Automation Engineer (EHR)) will provide technical and people leadership for all quality engineering initiatives across PsychPlus’s healthcare platforms. This role blends hands‑on automation engineering with strategic quality leadership, ensuring our software meets the highest standards of reliability, security, regulatory compliance, and patient safety.You will own the automation strategy, scale and mentor a high‑performing QA engineering team, and partner closely with Engineering, Product, Clinical Operations, and Compliance to deliver high‑quality healthcare software at speed.This is a hands‑on leadership role not a purely managerial position.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Engineering Strategy & LeadershipDefine and execute the Quality Engineering and Test Automation strategy aligned with business goals and regulatory requirementsEstablish quality standards, KPIs, and release readiness criteria across productsDrive a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvementHands‑On Automation EngineeringDesign, implement, and maintain automation frameworks (UI, API, and integration testing)Lead efforts using Cypress and related automation toolsReview and contribute directly to test plans, test cases, automation scripts, and executionTeam Building & MentorshipBuild, manage, and mentor a team of Automation & QA EngineersProvide technical guidance, code reviews, performance feedback, and career developmentEstablish best practices for scalable, maintainable test automationHealthcare Compliance & QualityEnsure compliance with HIPAA, patient data security standards, and healthcare regulatory guidelinesPartner with Compliance and Security teams to validate data integrity, patient safety, and audit readinessApply healthcare QA best practices to EHR systems, clinical workflows, and staff operationsCross‑Functional CollaborationWork closely with Software Engineering, Product, Clinical Operations, and DevOpsCommunicate quality risks, test results, and release readiness clearly to leadership and stakeholdersParticipate actively in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release planningCI/CD & Release QualityIntegrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelinesDrive shift‑left testing practices across the SDLCLead defect analysis, root‑cause investigations, and prevention effortsRequirementsEducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Experience10+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering or Automation5+ years of hands‑on Electronic Health / Healthcare QA experience (REQUIRED)5+ years in a technical leadership or management roleProven experience testing healthcare IT systems, EHR platforms, and clinical workflowsTechnical SkillsStrong hands‑on experience with Cypress and modern test automation frameworksExperience with API testing, integration testing, and end‑to‑end automationDeep understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and QA best practicesExperience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelinesFamiliarity with cloud‑based environments and testing toolsDomain ExpertiseDeep understanding of healthcare data workflows, patient safety considerations, and clinical operationsExperience with HIPAA compliance, data integrity, and security validationUnderstanding of healthcare staff workflows and operational systemsSoft SkillsStrong analytical and problem‑solving skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilitiesAbility to lead, mentor, and inspire high‑performing engineering teamsSo What Do You Think?If you’ve made it this far, we’re excited to meet you.PsychPlus is a meritocratic, high‑performance organization.
