All members of our Engineering Center team there will report to the successful candidate. He or she will lead the support and enhance collaboration between our team and US-based operations. This role is critical to ensuring technical excellence in creating quote, calculation, drawing, and other engineering data deliverables for steel utility poles, while promoting leadership development and building Nucor culture within the team.Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Guide team in the preparation of estimates, engineering designs, and shop drawings. Ensure deliverables meet NTS standards and project specifications. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline workflows and improve turnaround times. Coach managers to lead teams the Nucor way. Contribute to team building, recruiting, and hiring efforts. Conduct regular coaching sessions to build technical confidence and leadership capacity. Support career development plans and identify training needs. Promote Nucor values and foster a sense of purpose for the team. Lead initiatives that bridge cultural gaps and enhance collaboration between U.S. and India teams. Facilitate clear and consistent communication between teams without being a funnel for information. Ensure India team is informed and aligned with NTS goals. Help the team build KPIs, monitor them, and provide insights to improve performance. Participate in strategic planning to expand offshore capabilities and improve integration. Business travel to the US, as requiredMinimum Qualifications:Able to communicate in English Bachelor’s degree in Engineering 8+ years of experience in steel fabrication, construction, or related industries 2+ years of experience as a dedicated leader with at least 5 reporting employees Willing and able to adjust work hours occasionally to align with US Eastern Time Zone Willing and able to travel to the United States as needed – could be as frequently as monthly for one week at a time for up to six months, then frequency will reducePreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree specifically in Structural or Mechanical Engineering 3+ years of experience in steel pole design, estimating, or detailing 2+ years working in an offshore support team environment
