AD/ SAD Drones

Role Overview : The position will drive policy advocacy, industry engagement, and programme execution for the drone and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) sector. The role requires strong understanding of India’s evolving drone ecosystem, regulatory frameworks, and emerging applications across sectors.1. Policy Advocacy & Government EngagementTrack, analyse, and interpret drone-related policies, regulations, and reforms (e.g., civil aviation, defence, data, and privacy frameworks).Engage with key government bodies such as Ministry of Civil Aviation, DGCA, NITI Aayog, MeitY, MoD etc.Draft policy papers, consultation responses, and recommendations to promote industry growth.Represent FICCI in government meetings, working groups, and stakeholder consultations.Track emerging technologies such as AI-enabled drones, BVLOS operations, and drone traffic management.Publish thought leadership content to position FICCI as a key voice in the drone ecosystem.2. Industry Development & Stakeholder ManagementBuild and manage relationships with drone manufacturers, service providers, startups, investors, and end-users.Facilitate industry forums, roundtables, and working groups.Identify sectoral opportunities in agriculture, logistics, infrastructure, defence, and public safety.3. Programme & Event ManagementConceptualize and execute conferences, workshops, and summits focused on drones/UAS.Develop knowledge products such as reports, whitepapers, and industry insights.Lead capacity-building initiatives, training programmes, and pilot projects.4. Business Development & PartnershipsIdentify sponsorship and partnership opportunities for sector initiatives.Identify & collaborate with international organizations, industry bodies, and think tanks.Revenue generation for programmes.Key SkillsPolicy analysis and advocacyStrategic thinking and industry insightStakeholder management and networkingExcellent written and verbal communicationProject and programme managementKnowledge of Drone / Robotics sectorQualifications & ExperienceBTech / MTech, MPP, MBA, Master’s in Aviation, or related field.8 + years of experience in policy, consulting, industry associations, or drone/UAS sector.
