Role OverviewEconomic Laws Practice (ELP) is seeking a Marketing & Business Development Manager to support the execution of the firm’s marketing and business development initiatives.The role will work closely with the Head of Marketing & Business Development, partners, and practice groups to coordinate and implement BD initiatives, manage marketing projects, support client development activities, and strengthen the firm’s market presence across priority practices and sectors.This position requires strong project management, writing, and stakeholder coordination skills within a fast-paced professional services environment.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development SupportSupport the implementation of practice and sector-focused business development plans.Conduct client, industry, and market research to identify potential opportunities and target clients.Maintain and track BD pipelines, client target lists, and opportunity trackers across practices.Assist partners in preparing for client meetings, networking initiatives, and relationship-building activities.Support initiatives aimed at strengthening client relationships and expanding client engagements.Key Client & Cross-Practice SupportAssist in the coordination of key client initiatives and client engagement programmes.Support partners in identifying opportunities for cross-selling services across practice areas.Track client interactions and support follow-up initiatives to strengthen long-term client relationships.Pitching & ProposalsCoordinate and prepare client pitches, RFP responses, capability statements, and credentials.Work with partners to gather inputs and develop customised proposals and presentations.Maintain and update the firm’s pitch materials, matter experience database, and credentials repository.Manage internal timelines and coordination for pitch submissions.Legal Directory & RankingsManage the end-to-end process for legal directory submissions.Draft and coordinate submissions to directories including Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, IFLR1000, Benchmark Litigation, and other relevant rankings.Coordinate with lawyers to gather matter highlights, client referees, and supporting materials.Track submission deadlines and maintain a central repository of submissions, rankings, and recognitions.League Tables, Awards & Deal TrackingTrack the firm’s transactions, disputes, and key mandates for potential publicity and recognition.Coordinate submissions for league tables, industry awards, and deal announcements.Maintain a database of notable matters and firm achievements for marketing and BD purposes.Sector Campaigns & Market IntelligenceSupport sector-focused marketing and BD initiatives aligned with the firm’s priority industries.Track market trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activity relevant to the firm’s practice areas.Assist with the development of campaign-based marketing initiatives around industry developments or regulatory themes.Marketing & Brand SupportCoordinate the development of marketing collateral, including brochures, practice profiles, and client-facing materials.Support the preparation and promotion of thought leadership, publications, and client alerts.Work with designers and external vendors to ensure high-quality, brand-compliant marketing assets.Website & Digital Presence ManagementManage and maintain the firm’s website content, including updates to partner profiles, practice pages, matter highlights, publications, and news.Coordinate with external web developers and agencies on website updates, enhancements, and troubleshooting.Support the development, launch, and ongoing management of the firm’s website and digital platforms.Ensure website content remains accurate, current, and aligned with the firm’s branding guidelines.Monitor website analytics and basic SEO performance and recommend improvements where appropriate.Events & Market VisibilitySupport the planning and execution of client events, seminars, webinars, and industry roundtables.Coordinate logistics, invitations, marketing materials, and post-event follow-ups.Assist with the firm’s participation in industry conferences and sponsorship initiatives.Support post-event business development initiatives, including follow-up with attendees and tracking potential opportunities.Digital & Content MarketingSupport digital marketing initiatives including website content, newsletters, and LinkedIn campaigns.Coordinate the publication and promotion of thought leadership content and firm updates.Monitor engagement metrics and assist with campaign tracking and reporting.Client Feedback & Market InsightsSupport the implementation of client feedback and client listening initiatives.Assist in capturing client insights and market intelligence to inform BD initiatives.Partner Profiles & Practice PositioningMaintain and update partner and practice profiles across marketing channels, directories, and the firm’s website.Ensure that experience highlights and key matters are accurately captured and reflected in marketing materials.CRM & Data ManagementMaintain and update CRM databases, contact lists, and marketing trackers.Support client segmentation, mailing lists, and targeted outreach initiatives.Track engagement metrics for marketing campaigns, events, and client interactions.International Networks & ReferralsSupport the firm’s engagement with international referral networks, law firm alliances, and cross-border relationships.Assist in coordinating marketing initiatives with international partner firms and networks.Internal Coordination & Project ManagementServe as a central point of coordination between partners, lawyers, and the marketing team.Manage multiple marketing and BD projects simultaneously and ensure timely execution.Support the implementation and optimisation of marketing technology and CRM tools.Support the implementation of firmwide BD initiatives and strategic marketing programmes in collaboration with the Head of Marketing & Business Development.Candidate ProfileExperience3-5 years of experience in marketing or business development, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.SkillsStrong writing and editing skills, particularly for pitches and directory submissions.Excellent project management and organisational skills.Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and partners.Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to track BD metrics and market developments.High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.EducationBachelor’s degree in law, marketing, communications, business, or a related field.LL.B, MBA or equivalent qualification preferred.Personal
