About the Role We’re seeking aResearch Internpassionate about applyingAI and machine learning to autonomous UAV perception and navigation. You’ll explore and prototype learning-based algorithms that help dronessee, localize, and move intelligently— even in dynamic or GPS-denied environments.This internship provides hands-on exposure tosimulation environments, sensor-fusion pipelines, and embedded AI systems.Key Responsibilities:Support research and prototyping ofAI/ML algorithmsfor perception, tracking, localization and navigation. Work onmulti-sensor fusioncombining visual, inertial, and positional data for improved environmental understanding. Train and testcomputer vision or deep learning modelsfordetection, motion estimation, and environmental understanding. Use high-fidelitysimulationswithphysics-based environmentsto generate datasets and test autonomy pipelines. Assist inintegrating perception and navigation modulesinto flight-control or hardware-in-the-loop setups. Optimizereal-time inference and video/data streaming pipelinesfor embedded AI systems.Skills & Qualifications:Strong foundation indeep learning, computer vision, and state estimation. Understanding ofobject detection, tracking, SLAM, and sensor-fusion techniques. Proficiency inPythonand familiarity withPyTorch/TensorFlowandOpenCV. Experience working onLinuxenvironments and basic knowledge ofC++. Familiarity withsimulation tools(Gazebo, Webots,Isaac Sim) andautopilot frameworks(PX4, ArduPilot).
