General Manager – OperationsLocation: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (frequent travel to site)Reports To: Board of Directors (dotted line to Managing Director)RoleOverall responsibility for strategy, operations, assets, and P&L of the company’s industrial solar salt business in Tanzania, including salt fields, processing facilities, and domestic/export operations.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute business strategy aligned with the BoardFull ownership of operations, infrastructure, manufacturing, and asset performance Lead through site GM with strong governance and regular on-site reviewsFull P&L responsibility: budgets, capex, costs, EBITDA, cash flowProvide strategic oversight to sales, pricing, and market expansion (domestic & export)Ensure regulatory compliance, risk management, and asset protectionBuild and lead senior teams; manage regulators, customers, financiers, and local stakeholdersCandidate ProfileEngineering degree (Chemical preferred); MBA preferred5–10 years in asset-heavy industrial/manufacturing businesses (chemicals/salt/minerals)Prior GM / Operations / Plant Head role with P&L ownershipAfrica experience preferred (East Africa ideal)Strong operational, financial, and leadership capability
