RMIT was rated “well above world standard” in 13 fields and “above world standard” in a further nine fields.The Role:The SSVF Compliance Officer position sits within the Global Student Recruitment team based in Delhi, India, and plays a key role in supporting the university’s international student recruitment efforts and visa risk compliance management. The role involves conducting Genuine Student (GS) assessments against established criteria for targeted applicants, ensuring the university maintains its Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF) risk rating while remaining competitive in the international education market.The SSVF Compliance Officer is responsible for conducting pre-screening and SSVF interviews for applicants from India, South Asia, and other designated key regions. Interviews must be completed within specified timeframes, with a high level of accuracy, in strict adherence to system criteria checklists. The role also requires maintaining accurate and up-to-date records within the admissions database. The officer plays a critical role in identifying and reporting emerging SSVF trends by compiling, analysing, and monitoring interview data. Any emerging issues or risks must be promptly escalated to the SSVF Compliance Coordinator to support informed decision-making and compliance outcomes. Additional responsibilities include managing applicant and agent queries via notification flags, assistingwith enrolment extension letters, and supporting related admissions processes. Effective collaboration with internal stakeholders, particularly the Recruitment, Global Sales, and Conversion teams is essential to ensure timely follow-ups and a smooth applicant and agent experience.Reporting:Reports to: SSVF Compliance CoordinatorKey responsibilities:• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with applicants, education agents, and internal stakeholders, including handling queries, documenting outcomes, and escalating concerns appropriately.• Demonstrated capability to maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records in admissions systems, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.• Ability to compile, analyse, and interpret interview and compliance data to identify emerging trends, risks, or issues and escalate matters promptly to the SSVF Compliance Coordinator or relevant authority.• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet specified interview timeframes, and maintain service standards in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.• Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as Recruitment, Sales, or Conversion teams to support efficient follow-ups and positive applicant outcomes.• Demonstrated understanding of applicants from India, South Asia, and other key regions, with the ability to conduct interviews in a culturally sensitive and professional manner.• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, manage heavy workloads, maintain accuracy and meet deadlines, ability to work under pressure and be able to adapt to changing work practices.• Demonstrated ability to work in an office environment and manage administrative tasks accurately, promptly and efficiently as well as understanding a variety of systems Person Specification:• Demonstrated experience in being a pro-active team member whilst successfully responding to client needs measured through lead generation, conversion to application, and positive customer feedback.• Experience in an acquisition/recruitment environment highly regarded • Exhibit high level written and verbal communication skills and comprehension skills and confidently interact with clients from a diverse range of backgrounds.• Demonstrate ability to manage difficult client expectations with successful outcome.• Experience with CRM for capturing lead and case data based on conversation with prospective students.• Ability to use multiple systems simultaneously and work well under pressure whilst meeting KPI’s.• Ability to interpret complex information and effectively and efficiently converse with individuals at all levels while dealing with customers from diverse backgrounds.• Demonstrate high level IT skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office software, with strong emphasis on Excel.QualificationsBachelor degree or equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant work experience Other• Attending work events after hours, on occasion, may be required.• Flexibility to work after hours may be required during peak periods.• Knowledge and experience of Australian international higher education is desirable.Availability and start date:ImmediateNOTE: OneStep Global is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to the employment policies, procedures and practices which do not discriminate on grounds such as gender, marital status, family status, age, disability, race, religious belief, sexual orientation.
