The Mortgage Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating and assessing loan applications to ensure compliance with financial guidelines and risk standards. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing credit reports, income documents, and property appraisals, while providing recommendations for approval, denial, or necessary modifications. The role involves collaborating with internal teams to ensure efficiency and providing exceptional support to clients throughout the mortgage approval process.Qualifications Strong knowledge of US mortgage underwriting practices, financial analysis, and credit risk assessment Proficient in analyzing income, credit, and asset documentation, as well as assessing property appraisals Experience in utilizing underwriting systems and loan origination platforms Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail Effective written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to collaborate across teams Time management and organizational skills to handle a high volume of applications FHA, VA, or conventional loan underwriting certification (preferred but not required) Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
