Director of Finance

Role OverviewThe Director – Finance will lead the organization’s financial strategy, governance, investor engagement, budgeting, and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. This role is critical in driving long-term value creation, ensuring financial discipline, and representing the company in strategic discussions with investors and board members.Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Finance & LeadershipDevelop and execute the company’s long-term financial strategy aligned with business objectives. Provide financial insights, scenario analysis, and decision support at board and investor levels. Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and capital allocation strategies. Collaborate with executive management to guide strategic decision-making through financial analysis. Manage relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and key financial stakeholders. Provide leadership to the finance function, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.2. Investor Relations & FundraisingAct as the primary finance representative for investors, private equity firms, venture capitalists, and financial institutions. Prepare and present investment decks, financial models, valuation analyses, and performance metrics. Manage due diligence processes during fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, or strategic partnerships. Ensure transparent, accurate, and timely communication of financial performance, risks, and growth plans to investors.3. Financial Governance & ComplianceEnsure compliance with statutory requirements, accounting standards, and regulatory frameworks. Oversee audits, taxation, corporate finance activities, and internal control systems. Strengthen enterprise risk management and financial control mechanisms across the organization.4. Performance Management & ReportingOversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and MIS reports suitable for investor and board review. Monitor KPIs, profitability, cash flows, and working capital efficiency. Identify financial risks and opportunities and recommend corrective actions. Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Lead the financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. Develop and implement financial strategies to drive growth, profitability, and long-term sustainability.5. Mergers, Acquisitions & Strategic InitiativesEvaluate inorganic growth opportunities including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic alliances. Lead financial due diligence, valuation, negotiations, and post-merger integration planning. Support business expansion, restructuring, and transformation initiatives.6. Team LeadershipBuild, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team across accounting, taxation, FP&A, and compliance. Collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders to align financial strategy with operational and business goals.Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong strategic and analytical thinking with excellent business acumen. Proven experience in investor presentations and board-level communications. Expertise in financial modelling, valuation, and capital structuring. Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. High integrity, strong governance mindset, and attention to detail.Qualifications & ExperienceQualified Chartered Accountant with 15+ years of demonstrable experience as a Finance Director, CFO, or senior finance leader. Strong expertise in corporate finance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks. Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and strategic financial planning. Ability to translate business objectives into executable financial strategies. Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
