Job Description:

Company DescriptionNexera Chem is an advanced materials startup developing next-generation cathode formulations to strengthen India's energy security. Emerging from stealth with a robust synthesis platform and full-suite electrochemical capabilities, we utilize a proprietary process to engineer LFP cathode materials. This is an on-site role based in New Delhi; you will be an integral part of a fast-paced, rapidly scaling startup!Role DescriptionWe are looking for a hands-on R&D Scientist to design, build, and scale our cathode formulations. Reporting directly to the Founder, you will own critical product development decisions and take our formulations from the kilo-scale to the pilot line.In this role, you will gain unparalleled, end-to-end exposure from scaling formulations and processes, collaborating across teams, and working directly with cell manufacturers for material qualification. What you will doDetermine LFP cathode development strategy and identify specific chemical and process design features to build competitive formulations on kilo-scale Critically evaluate and refine our synthesis protocols to engineer LFP with superior physical properties, morphology, and electrochemical characteristics.Develop and rigorously test new hypotheses based on cutting-edge literature.Execute and interpret analytical characterization results — including XRD, SEM, BET, TEM, and PSA — to drive rapid product iteration.Lead hands-on experiments from end-to-end, from precursor preparation, active material synthesis, physical & cell testing development, and reviewing and drawing from the results.Translate complex end-application requirements directly into material design parameters.Design and execute sophisticated Design of Experiments (DoE) to optimize formulations, utilizing experimental results.Lean, Evaluate and experiment with mechanical routes for scaling up powder production.Develop the technical roadmap for transitioning our LFP cathode manufacturing system from batch operations to continuous mode pilot scale. What You BringPh.D. in Material Science, Solid-State Chemistry, or a closely related deep-tech discipline.Experience with battery cathode material synthesis1 - 2+ years of hands-on experience in powder processing, slurry handling, or advanced material manufacturing.Hands-on experience with the electrochemical testing (coin / pouch cell development) and root-cause troubleshootingStrong ability to decipher XRD, SEM, TEM, BET, and XPS characterization data to drive iterative material developmentFunctioning independently with limited supervision and thrive in the high-ambiguity environment.Understanding of powder processing techniques such as wet milling, drying, calcinationHow to apply: Apply via Linkedin or email your resume at
