Pahle India Foundation (PIF), chaired by Dr. Rajiv Kumar (Former Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog), is inviting applications for the role of a Research Associate and a Senior Research Associate.About PIF PIF is a purpose-driven action tank committed to shaping evidence-based, impactful policies for India’s economic transformation. We work closely with state and central governments on district- led development, export-led manufacturing, Ease of doing business, strengthening data systems, and impact assessments. Role Overview As a Research Associate / Senior Research Associate, you will: Lead data-driven research and policy analysis projects. Work with large-scale datasets (administrative, labour, GST, satellite, survey). Translate evidence into policy recommendations and clear outputs (reports, briefs, op-eds). Work with researchers and manage stakeholder engagement with government and partners.Qualifications Master’s/PhD in Economics, Econometrics, Data Science, or related quantitative discipline. Strong training in econometrics, statistics, and programming (Stata, R, or Python). Experience of at least 2 years for Research Associate position and 3+ years for Senior Research Associate position in empirical research, data analysis, and publication. Strong communication skills for policy briefs, government engagement, along with op-eds and journal papers.Bonus Qualifications: Experience in survey design and field data collection (ASI, LFS, ASUSE, NSS, or similar). Design and apply advanced econometric and statistical methods (DiD, IV, PSM, panel data models, etc.) for causal insights.Remuneration:as per industry norms and dependent on skill sets.Why Join Us: Work directly with governments on live policy challenges.
