Textile Design InternshipAbout the PositionAn emerging home and lifestyle brand focused on artisanal craft and sustainable design is looking for Textile Design Interns to join our growing creative team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with designers and artisans while contributing to the development of unique textile collections across multiple home categories.LocationThis is a full-time summer internship (40 hours per week) working remotely from home. Applicants must be based in Jaipur, Delhi, or Kolkata (India only). The role may require occasional travel to artisan workshops and production units to assist with sampling, oversee development, and support the production process.Roles & Responsibilities• Design unique and innovative print and pattern concepts based on consumer insights and emerging market trends.• Clean artworks, create color separations, and develop multiple colorway options.• Create original hand-drawn and computer-generated motifs for new textile artworks.• Modify and enhance original artworks to adapt designs for various home textile applications while maintaining aesthetic consistency.• Build cohesive print and pattern stories aligned with the brand vision across categories including bedding, pillows, throws, bath, upholstery, and table linens.• Assist in preparing artwork files for sampling, production, and presentation.• Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure every design meets brand standards and technical specifications.• Research global textile, color, and home décor trends to support seasonal concept development.• Maintain organized design files, artwork archives, and color libraries.• Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude and strong team-oriented mindset.• Be extremely organized and detail-oriented with strong calendar adherence and ownership of deadlines.• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced environment.• Basic understanding of textiles, fabrications, printing methods, and manufacturing techniques.• Strong follow-up skills with the ability to see projects through to completion.• Accepts direction and feedback constructively and demonstrates the ability to incorporate critique into design improvements.• Adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn in a dynamic, fast-paced creative environmentEligibility• Currently enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate or a recent graduate in Textile Design, Fine Arts with relevant experience.• 1+ years of experience or academic work in textile design, surface design, or print design, preferably within home products or fashion.• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite — particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Procreate and Microsoft Excel.• Excellent understanding of color theory, print and pattern design, and fabric construction.• Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.• Submit portfolio showcasing print and pattern design, color sense, and design thinking to be considered.CompensationThis is a paid internship.
