Job Description:
Floatex Solar is India's leading floating solar technology company with over 1 GW of delivered capacity and 70% market share. We design, engineer, and deploy floating solar power plants on reservoirs, lakes, and dams across India — working with NHPC, NTPC, SJVN, L&T, and other major utilities. We're looking for an experienced Anchoring & Mooring Engineer / Naval Architect to join our core engineering team and take ownership of mooring system design, anchor engineering, and stability analysis for our floating solar projects. What You'll Do Design and analyze mooring systems for floating solar arrays on inland water bodies (reservoirs, dams, lakes) across varying water depths and bed conditions Perform mooring analysis using software such as MOSES, OrcaFlex, or equivalent — covering intact and damaged line conditions using frequency domain and time domain simulations Design gravity anchors, drag anchors, and pile anchors suited to diverse geotechnical conditions (silt, clay, rock, sandy beds) Conduct stability calculations for ferrocement Inverter Floating Platforms (IFPs) and HDPE float assemblies using NAPA, Maxsurf, or equivalent tools Calculate maximum excursion during transient phases and validate mooring line tensions against allowable limits Develop mooring arrangement drawings, anchor dropping schedules, and mooring line length calculations for project execution teams Coordinate with external marine engineering consultants (classification society background preferred) for third-party design verification Support naval architecture calculations including freeboard, tonnage, scantling, and load-out/float-off assessments for platform transport and installation Prepare Design Basis Reports (DBR) and Buoyancy Calculation Reports for client and regulatory submissions What We're Looking For Must Have: B.Tech / B.E. in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or Marine Engineering from a recognized institution (IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, IMU, CUSAT, or equivalent) 3–8 years of experience in mooring analysis and anchor design — offshore oil & gas, marine construction, or floating structures Proficiency in MOSES, OrcaFlex, NAPA, Maxsurf, or equivalent hydrodynamic/stability software Strong understanding of mooring system types — catenary, taut, and semi-taut configurations Experience with gravity anchor design and anchor holding capacity calculations Familiarity with classification society rules and standards (DNV, BV, ABS, IRS, API RP 2SK) Ability to work with AutoCAD for mooring arrangement drawings Nice to Have: Prior experience at a classification society (DNV-GL, Bureau Veritas, Lloyd's, IRS) or marine consultancy Experience with floating renewable energy systems (floating solar, floating wind) Knowledge of Indian inland waterway and reservoir conditions Experience with frequency domain and time domain mooring simulations for /"all lines intact/" and /"one line damaged/" conditions Familiarity with load-in/load-out, dry docking, and launching calculations Why Floatex? India's #1 floating solar company — you'll work on the largest projects in the country Greenfield engineering challenges — unlike repetitive offshore O&G work, every reservoir is different Small, high-impact team — your work directly shapes project outcomes Growing fast — 1 GW delivered, multi-GW pipeline ahead Real-world impact — clean energy on India's water bodies Location & Compensation Based at Head Office in Delhi Competitive salary commensurate with experience
