Job Title:Head Accounts - Transportation Location:Navi Mumbai - Maharashtra Department:Accounts - Transportation Reports To:CFO and Transportation Director Job Summary: To lead the Accounts and Finance function of business vertical Transportation - managing day to day accounting of the business vertical, supervising the related accounts team, Preparing the MIS data and analysing the data, handling other core functions, receivable management and vendor management Key Responsibilities: - Ensuring timely and correct invoicing to the customers - Timely recovery of the outstanding i.e within the credit period and monitoring of regular receivable report and highlight the management the long dues with the issues if any - Monitoring the budgeted productivity of the fleet - Monitoring trip wise profitability ie whether the same is in line with the budget - Timely preparing and presenting the MIS on monthly basis - Ensuring that the payments to the vendors are done with in time ie within the credit period agreed with the vendors - Ensuring that the advances to the vendors are done in time bound manner - Tracking the fleet repairs and management and same is in line with the budget - Ensuring that the insurance and taxes of the fleets are paid on time with NIL penalty - Assisting the team to prepare the Budget and tracking the same on monthly basis - Providing the regular support to TMS software in discussion with the software vendor - Ensuing that the internal controls and internal audits are conducted with no adverse findings - Liasioning with the banks - Develop and execute strategies to optimize transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer service levels. - Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors negotiating rates and service contracts to enhance operational capabilities. - Monitor and evaluate transportation performance metrics, utilizing data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement. - Mentor and train junior staff, fostering an environment focused on continuous improvement and accountability. - Generate comprehensive reports for senior management on transportation performance, challenges faced, and proposed solutions. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s/Maters degree in Accounts and Finance - CA Inter and MBA in finance is added advantage - A minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation accounts and finance - In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices.- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders. - Proficiency in transportation management software - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. - Proven leadership ability to inspire and manage a team in a fast-paced logistics environment.
