JOB DESCRIPTION Brief Background The BGV Specialist will own and drive the multi-layered Background Verification process for ESDS Software Solution Limited, ensuring every hire meets our standards of professional integrity, cultural fit, and role authenticity. This role goes beyond standard verification—it requires strong interpersonal judgment, advanced stakeholder handling skills, and the ability to tactfully extract and analyse sensitive feedback from former managers, peers, and HR contacts, along with the resourcefulness to conduct external searches and discreet validations. The BVC Manager will act as a gatekeeper of organizational integrity, making hiring recommendations that balance factual findings with a deep understanding of behavioural and cultural alignment. What the Role needs to Achieve Own the complete BGV process – from behavioural and credential checks to reference validations and statutory verifications. Validate candidate credibility through structured internal & external feedback, LinkedIn reviews, and public reputation research. Coordinate with vendors & internal stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant background checks. Compile clear BGV reports with strengths, risks, and recommendations for committee decision-making. Maintain compliance & confidentiality under DPDP, GDPR, and organizational policies. Identify and escalate red flags related to misrepresentation, false credentials, or integrity issues. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. End-to-End BGV Ownership Execute the BGV framework covering HR behavioural interviews feedback, Predictive Index analysis, LinkedIn checks, resume validation, email artifacts, Glassdoor research, and structured verbal reference checks. Ensure every BGV stage is completed within agreed timelines without compromising depth or accuracy. Detect inconsistencies, verify role authenticity, and flag red alerts for committee review. 2. External & Internal Validation Connect with reporting managers, peers, HR heads, and senior team members from previous organizations to collect structured feedback on behavioral traits, performance, and teamwork approach. Neutralize bias or incomplete feedback by probing deeper with tact and diplomacy. Conduct external research on professional reputation through LinkedIn, public forums, and industry networks. 3. Vendor & Stakeholder Management Liaise with third-party detective agencies/vendors for statutory checks (employment, education, criminal, address verification). Maintain strong collaboration with Talent Acquisition, Legal, Compliance, and CMD/CHRO for final hiring decisions. 4. Decision-Making & Reporting Consolidate findings into clear, factual BGV reports highlighting strengths, risks, and recommendations. Present cases to the BGV Committee for approval or rejection. Maintain BGV documentation repository for 3 years as per policy. 5. Risk & Compliance Ensure data confidentiality and compliance with DPDP, GDPR, and industry-specific regulations. Identify and escalate red flags such as misrepresentation, role/title fabrication, unverifiable employment, or integrity concerns. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED Advanced Communication Skills – able to tactfully address inconsistencies and gain accurate information from guarded sources. Investigative Approach – proactive in conducting external research beyond provided references. Behavioral Evaluation Expertise – strong understanding of workplace behaviors and cultural fit assessment. Influencing Skills – persuasive in presenting findings to leadership for critical hiring decisions. Confidentiality & Professional Ethics – trusted to handle sensitive, confidential information. Detail Orientation & Process Adherence – disciplined in following structured frameworks and documenting findings. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Graduate / Postgraduate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline. EXPERIENCE Minimum 5 years of Talent Acquisition / HR experience with minimum 3 years in BGV Compliance or investigative hiring functions. Proven track record in reference checks, behavioral evaluations, and vendor management. Exposure to Predictive Index or similar psychometric assessments preferred. Experience in regulated industries (IT, BFSI, Government projects) is an added advantage.
