Visual Merchandising (VM) Intern – Job Description Location: Palmonas – Pune (On-Site) Stipend: 15kEmployment Type: Internship (3–6 months)Department: RetailReporting To: VM ManagerAbout PalmonasPalmonas is a contemporary demi-fine jewellery and lifestyle brand known for minimalist, trend-driven designs and strong visual storytelling at every touchpoint — from digital to in-store experiences.Role OverviewAs a VM Intern, you will support the Visual Merchandising team in developing engaging in-store visual experiences that align with the brand’s aesthetic and help drive customer engagement and sales. This role is ideal for creative students or recent graduates passionate about retail, design, and consumer behaviour.Key Responsibilities1. Visual Display & ExecutionAssist in setting up and maintaining in-store displays, windows, and feature zones in accordance with Palmonas’ brand guidelines.Execute seasonal or campaign-specific visual merchandising plans across retail stores.Help update and adjust product layouts for optimum visual impact.2. Assortment & Planogram SupportSupport the team in planning product assortments and basic planograms for display areas.Provide input on placement based on product highlights, best sellers, and seasonal themes.3. Analytical & Reporting TasksTrack weekly VM effectiveness (basic sell-through, product visibility) and share trend insights.Support preparation of simple dashboards or performance summaries.4. Research & Trend MonitoringConduct market and competitor research to identify visual merchandising and retail trends.Assist in creating mood boards and inspiration guides for upcoming seasons.5. Collaboration & CoordinationWork closely with retail staff, operations, marketing, and product teams to ensure timely execution of VM actions.Help with stock tracking for VM props and display materials.Skills & QualificationsRequiredCurrently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Design, Fashion, Retail Management, Marketing, Business, or related field.Creative flair and aesthetic sense with an eye for detail and colour balance.Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.Comfortable working in retail environments and adapting to fast-paced execution.PreferredBasic understanding of MS Excel, PowerPoint and visual tools (Canva, Photoshop, Figma).Interest in luxury retail, jewellery, lifestyle branding, or fashion.What You’ll GainHands-on experience in visual merchandising strategy and retail execution.Exposure to retail operations, product presentation, store planning, and customer experience.Practical insights into how brand identity comes alive in physical spaces.Real-world understanding of retail analytics and consumer behaviour.
