Title: SDE 1 (On-site) — ContraVault AILocation: India (On-site)About ContraVault AI We build GenAI-powered RFP analysis and proposal drafting software for global bid teams across AEC and public sector. Our stack powers real-time collaboration, compliance checks, and AI-assisted authoring at scale.Role Overview As an SDE 1, you’ll ship production features end-to-end: design, implement, test, and deploy. You’ll work closely with product, design, and ML to build reliable, scalable systems for live collaboration and AI-driven workflows.ResponsibilitiesFeature Delivery: Build and maintain frontend and backend services; write clean, testable code.Collaboration: Partner with product/design to turn specs into robust user experiences.Quality: Add unit/integration tests; monitor performance and fix bugs quickly.Scale & Reliability: Optimize APIs, data models, and caching for low-latency collaboration.Security & Compliance: Follow secure coding practices and data privacy standards.Documentation: Write clear technical docs and maintain project hygiene.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.0–2 years of professional software development experience.Strong in one language: JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java.Fundamentals: Data structures, algorithms, HTTP/REST, databases (SQL/NoSQL).Frontend: React or similar; modern tooling (Webpack/Vite), state management.Backend: Node.js/Express or Python/FastAPI; building RESTful services.Databases & Cloud: Postgres/MySQL; basics of AWS/GCP; CI/CD familiarity.Testing: Jest/PyTest or similar; debugging with logs and metrics.Nice to HaveReal-time collaboration: WebSockets/WebRTC, CRDTs, operational transforms.AI/ML integration: Working with LLMs, prompt engineering, retrieval pipelines.Messaging & Scale: Redis, Kafka, background workers, rate limiting.Security: OAuth2/OpenID Connect, role-based access, data encryption.DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform; observability (Grafana, Prometheus).What We ValueOwnership, curiosity, and bias for shipping.Pragmatic engineering: simple solutions, measurable impact, continuous improvement.Strong communication and empathy for users.BenefitsCompetitive salary and performance bonuses.Health insurance.Growth: mentorship, learning stipends, and high-impact projects.On-site collaboration with a fast-moving founding team.
