It is not about interviewing celebs or filing features. It is entirely about editing and restructuring copies, packaging content, visualising page layout. The candidate should understand the nuances of visual storytelling and be a team player who can engage with colleagues from our editorial teams spread across the country for ideas and inputs.Key responsibilitiesEdit, rewrite, fact check stories filed by reportersGive catchy, newsy headlines and plan visual elements for storiesCurate stories and packages on trending topics Coordinate with reporters, designers and other editorial teamsWork within tight deadlines Experience5+ years in Editorial/Desk team of a reputed English newspaper or magazineProficiency in InDesign and/or QuarkXPressExcellent language skills, attention to detail and a sharp news sense in both the soft and hard news space (especially at the overlap of the two) are non-negotiable.Educational Qualifications: Graduation degree in any discipline preferably in English with degree or diploma in journalism/mass communicationKnowledge and Skills:Exceptional command of grammar.Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Keen attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of accuracy under tight deadlines.
